A New School - a 7 year old perspective

Starting at a new school in the Virgin Islands is different than Connecticut.
It has been hard. There is not that many people in my school - only 11 in my class - and it is hard to get to know friends. To have a playdate with someone in my class I had to give him a post-it note and wait days for them to text my parents! We don't get as much recess and one person is not nice - she pretends to sleep during school, but wakes up at recess. I miss my friends in Connecticut a lot - I have Facetimed with them 2 times and I hope to do more.
It has been fun. I have a really nice teacher. We only do Math once a week (sometimes,
two), but it is fun because we have big Math books and it has really cool stuff and we use

blocks and spy glasses to count. We get to do iPads at the end of the day for free-time. We will get to use a science kit, but we haven't used it yet. Two days ago we planted beanstalks for our classroom and the teacher said I could take home the soil for my home garden, but I forgot it at school. Today we are off school because there was gonna be a hurricane, but it moved north, so we have a free day off.
I look forward to the weekends, where I play with my next door neighbor (we have built a path and that is where the garden is). I also like to pet donkeys on the beach!

Hang in there Finn! You are going to have an amazing adventure! Your school looks cool!
